Conte de Cavour was sunk by British aircraft during the Taranto attack of 11 November 1940. She was raised by the Italians and sent to Trieste for refit. Captured by the Germans in Trieste in 1943, abandoned in 1945, she was finally scrapped 27 February 1947. |

Rendered obsolete as a battleship, Kearsarge served as a training ship for a number of years. She was then converted to a floating crane, renamed Crane Ship No. 1, and continued to serve through and after the Second World War helping to build the new battleships and carriers. She was sold for scrap on 9 August 1955. |

Surrendered to American naval forces on 30 August 1945. Nagato was moved to Eniwetok in March 1946 for repairs, then steamed to Bikini Atoll in May. She survived the Able air-burst test on 1 July, but was severely damaged by the Baker underwater test on the 24th. On the night of 29 July, Nagato capsized and sank in Bikini lagoon. |
