Opportunities at St. Alban’s
Altar Guild: A ministry of service where teams come together once a month to prepare and maintain the church sanctuary and altar for services. Various chairs are in charge of weddings, funerals, flowers, linen, candles, wine, bread and housekeeping supplies. New members are individually instructed by a team captain. St. Alban’s Guild: Meets third Thursday of each month at 10:00 am in the Music Room with fellowship and informative programs. Guild supports the Episcopal Church Women by serving as hostess for special events. St. Catherine’s Guild:
Meets second Monday of each month at 10:30 am in a member’s
home. Also supports the Episcopal Church Women by helping host
special events. Episcopal Church Women:
All women of St. Alban’s are members of E.C.W.
The E.C.W. Acolytes: Third graders through college students participate in this ministry of service at God’s altar. Acolytes are supported by the Acolyte Master and Acolyte Mothers. Ushers: Team captains lead a ministry of welcoming, seating and keeping the services running smoothly. This ministry is open to all members of St. Alban’s. Visitor Greeters:
Each Sunday volunteers greet visitors and newcomers at the guest
book where they are introduced to other members, taken to coffee
in the parish hall and made to feel welcome.

Members are scheduled weekly to bring the bread and wine to
God’s altar at the offertory. Call
Church Secretary, 752-1773. Lay Readers/Chalice Bearers: Members read the lessons, lead the prayers and administer the chalice. Members with the gift of communication are urged to contact the Rector. The Daughters of the King: A community of women from the three Episcopal Churches of Waco, meeting the fourth Thursday at Holy Spirit, who make a commitment to “a lifelong program of prayer, service and personal evangelism, dedicated to the extension of Christ’s Kingdom and to the strengthening of the spiritual life of each parish.” Senior Choir: The choir is a voluntary group who need not read music but have a deep desire to praise God through singing. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 5:45-7:00 pm and Sundays, 8:45-9:30 am. Caregivers:
Members provide meals to families in times of death and illness.

756-4078. Samaritans, A Community of Care: A program designed to assist the Rector with visitation to the sick, shut-ins and newcomers. Members must participate in an extensive training program. Vestry:
Five confirmed members are elected at the January Annual Meeting
to three year terms. The
Vestry is responsible for the financial, physical and spiritual
condition of St. Alban’s.
The Vestry meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Board
Room at 7:00 pm. School Board:
Three confirmed members
are
elected each year by the Vestry after being nominated by the School Board. They are responsible for the policies and plans of St.
Alban’s Memorial School. Meetings are the fourth Tuesday of each month at
5:30 p.m.

One
confirmed member is elected to a four year term each year at the Annual
Meeting in January and represents St. Alban’s at the Diocesan Council
in February with three
previously elected delegates. Outreach Volunteers: Members support and are active in many volunteer organizations in Waco. Additional volunteers are always needed. Is God calling you to one of the following ministries?

clothing at several Thrift Stores Family Abuse Center – A ministry to women and
children caught in the cycle Habitat for Humanity – Members have provided time
and talent in building Meals on Wheels – Volunteers are needed to take a
noon meal to a senior Mission Waco – Mission Waco is a volunteer-based
organization that provides Waco Readers – Volunteers are needed to tutor children
one hour a week in Waco |
