The Taoist religion began with the teachings of Loa Tzu
a mystic from 6th century B.C. China.
He wrote the Toa Te Ching
or The Way and It's Power. The Toaist Way teaches humility and balance
to be at peace with all things.

Know the male, keep the female,
be humble
toward the world.
Be humble toward the world
and eternal power never leaves.

Calm as the ocean depths,
Buoyant as if anchored
nowhere.
Most people have ways and means;
I alone
am unsophisticated and simple.
I alone am different from
people
in that I value seeking food from the mother.

To know the Tao meditate and still the mind. Knowledge
comes with perseverance.
The Way is neither full nor
empty; a modest and quiet nature understands this.
The empty
vessel, the uncarved block, nothing is more mysterious.
Like a golden
beacon signaling on a moonless night,
Tao guides our passage
through this transitory realm.
In moments of darkness and in pain
remember all is cyclical.
Sit quietly behind your wooden door:
Spring will come again.

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named is not the eternal Name.
The Unnamable is the eternally real.
Naming is the origin of all particular things.
Free from desire, you realize the mystery.
Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations.
Yet mystery and manifestations arose from the same source.
This source is called darkness.
Darkness within darkness, the gateway to all understanding.

The ancient Masters were profound and subtle.
Their wisdom was unfathomable.
There is no way to describe it;
all we can do is describe their appearance.
They were careful as someone crossing an iced over stream.
Alert as a warrior in enemy territory.
Courteous as a guest.
Fluid as melting ice.
Shapable as a block of wood.
Receptive as a valley.
Clear as a glass of water.
Do you have the patience to wait till your
mud settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving
till the right action arises by itself?
The Master doesn't seek fulfillment.
Not seeking, Not expecting,
he is present, and can welcome all things.
Lao Tzu

Empty your mind of all thoughts.
Let your heart be at peace.
Watch the turmoil of beings,
but contemplate their return.
Each separate being in the universe returns to the common source.
Returning is the source of serenity.
If you don't realize the source, you stumble in confusion and sorrow.
When you realize where you come from, you naturally
become tolerant,
disinterested, amused, kindhearted as a
grandmother, dignified as a king.
Immersed in the wonder
of the Tao, you can deal with whatever life brings you,
and when
death comes, you are ready.

The Way is not difficult for those without preferences.
Don't search for the truth, just stop having opinions.
