John Thomas Giles was born in GA on 12-11-1837 and died Abt 01-14-1892 in TX. He was a farmer by trade. He was located in the Baker Co. GA. Census in 1880. He was buried in Smyrna Cemetery, Rains Co., TX. He had 2 servants
David Peter Born Abt 1858 GA and a cook named Gibson Letta Born Abt. 1800 VA. He moved from GA to TX by Sept.1884. He was a private in Company D, 11th Battalion Georgia Artillery commanded by Captain Cutts. He was captured 04-02-1865 in Petersburg, VA and was released 06-28-1865. He was Irish. He married "Abbie" Cornelia ( Cornelious) C. Kines on 12-15-1865 in Sumter Co., GA, b.02-1848 GA d.04-14-1919 Emory, TX buried: Smyrna Cemetery, Rains Co., TX. Abbie was located in the Baker Co. GA. Census in 1880 and in the Kaufman Co. TX Census in 1900 and in the Emory, Rains Co., TX Census in 1910. She was crippled with a Bone Eryaipela in 1905.
