Hi Stan!
My Giles line comes from :
1. Capt James H. Giles (1742-1821) and Susannah Patterson Giles (1744-1824)--
2. William ( no dates or anything known about him)
3. My great grandfather James Andrew Giles (1815-1862) and Frances Ruth Huey Giles(1830-1899)
4. My Grandfather, Dr John Huey Giles ( 1857-1933) and Mary A. "Molly Nance Giles (1861-1940)
5. My Father Paul Nance Giles (1902-1990) and Annabelle Smith Giles ( 1901-1984)
6.Then to me, Mary Giles Cornelius
Capt James H Giles and Susannah Patterson had several children. I have no information on this son William.--not dates or who he married. My Great Grandfather,
James Andrew, came to Tippah Co., MS-served at an early age in Civil War and was carried to Allton, IL as a prisioner and died there. I did not question my grandfather before his death as I was young at that time. They came from Abbeville, SC. I have heard that this William might have some connection to a Powers for was said that they lived on the Powers Place and he might be buried at a Crawford cemetery. --Really do no know. That is the information I am seeking as well as ancesters of Capt James H. GIles. Do any of these names come up in your information?
Thanks, Mary
