Instead of myself trying to explain how SunSpots occur and why they happen it would be best you visit Spaceweathers SunSpot Numbers explaination . Images here are taken with a Canon Rebel 300D at Prime Focus of a Celestron C8 SCT on a CG5 GEQ mount . A Baader Solar Filter from Hands On Optics is used for all my Solar Viewing and imaging . Images are edited in PS7 and resized .
