Briar_Patch_@_Rocky_Cove_Monticello_GA._03.30.02

My best friend lives in central Georgia. He and his family, represent all things of value I managed to accumulate from that time.

I spent ten years of my life in Georgia. Without exception, every positive memory I have of that time is in some way related to my friend, Gregory G. Golden. I think this speaks very highly of his character.

His family has a place there… on Rocky Cove… on Jackson Lake… a 100-year lease on land managed by Georgia Power. The nearest town is Monticello, although the postal address for The Briar Patch is Mansfield, GA.

I do not possess the means to describe The Briar Patch. It is of… and unto itself… beyond any description I am capable of formulating. It is more a state of mind. There is something magical about water… especially large bodies of it… which speaks to the inner soul of every man.

Oh… for the sound of one of my wood-strip canoes hitting the water about now…
