Concord_NC_03.01

I am not real sure about the exact date of this one... but I do know, because of what was happening in my life at the time... this one was taken sometime in late March in Concord, North Carolina.

At that time... I was living in the Concord area and for some reason (which I will not discuss here) I found myself wandering around in downtown Concord early one Saturday morning. A very cool place, Concord. I once came amazingly close to buying a house in the historical district there. Right there along Union street. It didn't work out. Not because of my financing... but because of a lie I was told by an employer of mine.

But that... is a long, extremely complicated and convoluted story... filled with stories of litagation, documented by lawyers and court reporters. All of which was used as lining on the bottom of the dumptster at the Lindsey Oaks Apartments in San Marcos.

This is arguably the second oldest Man Hole cover shot in my collection... superceded only by the shot of the cross hatched cover taken on Valentines day 2001 in New Orleans.

When I think back to those turbulent times in the wake of my failed first marriage... I consider it nothing short of miraculous that I survived. Seriously... it is truly a miracle of God that I am even alive. I also consider it odd that I emerged with this weird little quirk of collecting Man Hole pictures.

This is an 'older' cover. Note the wide flange and the identifying text. One does not see things like this on newer covers.
