This was an absolutely spectacular day... be-bopping around Lakeshore Park in Chicago.

Colour shots are somewhat of a rarity with me. This was my very first cover shot taken in colour. While it is true that most covers only show their diversity and contrast in black and white... this one just "needed" to be in colour... because of the leaves. My father, the civil engineer, would have undoubtedly commented on the poor workmanship of the installation. Noting the back-fill was not compacted properly before the concrete was poured, thereby resulting in the cracking you see.

I see that... and the subtle colour of the leaves as well.

Taken with an absolutely ancient Pentax K-1000. Sure... there are a few "burned" places in the mottled light of the concrete... but I like it anyway.
