Corpus_Backlot_07.20.05_640X420

This is only a ghost image of what this one looks like in full rez. But the full rez image would be huge... and I have already had to buy additional webspace just to keep building this site. And to think... all this started as just an experiment to see if I could tinker together a workable site.

These days, some people seem to spend lots of time and effort in PhotoShop trying to stitch together images like this seamlessly. I would guess... if I were compelled to do such a thing, I could probably achieve it. However... I was taking multi-exposure panoramas as far back as the seventies. Call me "old-school" but I am so used to taping my images together... or gluing them down with 3M SprayMount adhesive that I guess I have just become accustom to the "frame-by-frame" look of my pictures. In fact... I sort of like it! I find PhotoShop useful in manipulating the images into managable forms, and I teach Photoshop to my students, but for the most part... I really don't "dink around" with the images too much. What I take... is pretty much what you see.

I wandered around Corpus Christi a bit again this summer. This backlot was directly downtown just a block off Water Street. I took note of it and came back later that evening when I knew the light would be good.
