It
is the sole purpose of the McCamey Texas Veterans Memorial Committee, Inc. to
honor McCamey, Texas veterans and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice serving
in the Uniformed Military Services defending and protecting the Constitution of
the United States of America as one nation under God, indivisible with liberty
and justice for all.
The
concept for this Memorial began at the Fabulous 60’s Reunion in September 2006
when a veteran displayed a mini Memorial in honor of fallen classmates of the
Vietnam War; USAF 1LT. Donald C. Smith-KIA 12-20-65; USMC PFC. Robert G.
Chenault-KIA 1-31-68; US
ARMY SSGT
The
committee was incorporated in the spring 2007 as The McCamey Texas Veterans
Memorial Committee, Inc.
The Memorial will be constructed
through individual and group donations.
The efforts of the committee, individuals
and groups
will be on a voluntary basis.
The date for the Memorial dedication will be announced once the
Memorial is completed.
After the Memorial dedication on the
corner of Burleson and 6th
St.,
the Memorial will be owned and
maintained by the City of McCamey.
The Grand Theater site was
donated by Bruce Grady in remembrance of his
late wife,
Debbie.

THIS MEMORIAL. WE HAVE COME UP WITH AN IDEA THAT WOULD INCLUDE
ALL PEOPLE WHO HAVE LIVED IN MCCAMEY WHETHER THEY WERE IN SERVICE OR
NOT. WE ARE SELLING BRICKS THAT WILL HAVE THE NAME OF ANYONE
YOU WOULD LIKE, WHETHER IT BE YOURSELF, OR ANY FAMILY MEMBER OR
FRIEND YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE REMEMBERED. THE BRICKS ARE PATHWAY RED
