This page will document my project from beginning to end, with details and photos.

Here's how it all started in Panhandle, TX.
Here's how she looks today.
Here's the look I'm going for.

Charlie spotted this car on eBay and decided to buy it for me for my birthday. It was in Panhandle, TX, just east of Amarillo. The sale price was $511.

We headed north on 04/26/08 and loaded her up on the car dolly and brought her home.

On the way home, Charlie used his phone to bid on eBay auctions for a cowl vent panel and a lower front valance. We won the cowl panel for $5.00 and the valance for $15.50! The restoration had begun before we even got the car home!

The body was fairly straight, but needed new quarters. There were no doors, front end or glass.

The floor and trunk pans and the dash panel needed replacing, due to rust, but the rust was mainly on those panels and the body will be very solid after the new metal is installed. It appears that it has never been wrecked.

My fenders, grille and headlight assemblies came from Charlie's SS(above). He replaced his to convert to an RS grille and headlight package and has put the replaced parts onto my Camaro. He also donated a front and rear spoiler to my project.

There was no interior. The only things remaining were the kick panels and rear & shoulder seat belts.

The original motor and transmission were missing. We already have a 350 and TH350 trans.

This is the motor that came with Charlie's '69 Camaro SS. It was originally from a Corvette. He is using it temporarilly in his Camaro until he finishes the rebuild on his #s matching motor. When he pulls this motor, it will go in mine.
