1999 Triton TR-21 w/EFI 225HP Mercury
Mechanically solid boat!
20’ 6” with a Mercury EFI-225
I bought this boat in 2012. I actually LOVE it! But, I don’t get to use it very often (3 times in last 2 years). I’ve put a LOT of work into this boat.
Description:
- New custom made trailer (2017? or 18) Less than 700 miles on it. $4750.00 ‘C’ channel NOT tube. Had to replace a rusting away tube trailer. Love this trailer, can’t tell there’s anything being towed. Large platform for loading at front was an option I’m glad I got. Makes loading and unloading much easier. Hydraulic disc brakes. Stainless steel Boat Buckles.
- Lower unit rebuilt (has less than 25 hours on it - Rebuilt by mercury mechanic in Lewisville (can't remember the name)$1000.00
- 10" Manual Jackplate, can't remember the brand but remember it is a good one. Wasn't cheap.
- Replaced carpet and still looks good. Keep it covered with ?Arora? canvas cover.
- New Interior seats and butt seats fore and aft. There is a center seat that I have not installed that will come with boat.
- New Driver and passenger windshields.
- Humminbird Helix 9 in front (not side scan)
- Humminbird Side Scan for navigation and rear fisherman. I can’t remember which model it is but it’s from 2006.
- MotorGuide Xi3: 70lbs Thrust & 24Volts - I LOVE this thing! Has GPS will hold your position in a strong wind!
- I replaced bilge and live well pumps (7 pumps total).
- 3 Bank (30Amp) onboard battery charger.
- 3 Good batteries!
- Hot Foot
- Lots of storage.
Super stable, handles Texoma, Ray Roberts and Fork with no problem.
Flaws
The gelcoat is not pretty. It will shine up and look good from a short distance but I had the gelcoat redone. The clear coat decided to crack. You can see it in some of the pictures. This is a mechanically GREAT boat. It is just not the prettiest boat. Not the ugliest either. It is one great fishing platform.
If it were prettier I would be asking A LOT more for it. So, if you don't need the prettiest boat but want one that is sound and great fishing, this is it!
Also, the plastic dash and glove box are faded.
It needs the "Triton" and "TR-21" stickers that go on the sides of the boat. Always meant to get them but never did.
This really isn't a flaw. The previous owner had the oil injection removed from the engine. Apparently, they could be unreliable and burn the engine up when they failed. So, he had it removed. You mix Gas:Oil 50:1. It's simple to do and really is more reliable. I has not been an issue for me at all.
