Manuel Leal Fuentes, 95, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, after a wonderful and full life. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. A beloved husband and father, Manuel provided invaluable support to his family throughout his life, and was an unparalleled role model for all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was always willing to help a friend, family member or person in need. Although he will be dearly missed, Manuel's passing is viewed as a blessing by his family as now he is free to join his wife to garden, fish, hunt, and dance with a healthy body capable of all he enjoyed earlier in his life. The Fuentes made their home in Mart for 44 years and in Spring for the past 10 years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Pia He is survived by daughters, Isabel Escauriza and Ruby Fuentes of Spring, Texas, and Sara and devoted son-in-law, Robert Henson of Montgomery, Texas; grandson, Ricky Escauriza of Spring; granddaughter, Veronica and husband, Jose Cardenas and great-granddaughter Arianna, of Downey, Calif.; sisters, Gregoria Nunez of Idaho, Inez Rodriquez of Waco, and Francis Castillo of Austin; brothers, Porfirio Fuentes and Lupe Fuentes of Waco; numerous nieces and nephews; caregiver Carmen Flores and special companion and pet, Pancho.
