The Lake LBJ Sailing Club radio controlled sailing fleet is growing. Our first fleet consists of the mini Soling sold by Victor Models, an inexpensive model that sails well. Walt's boat is finished (see below) and David and Sy have finished theirs! Races will be held in 2003, we need a race commander to hold the RC races, volunteer now! Practice races Sunday before our meetings at Sandyland. Check with David before ordering to make sure your radio has a different channel than other club members. So far we are using channels 64, 70, and 75 for the mini Solings.

The mini Soling has it's own page!
Walt brought his mini Soling to the club horse shoe tournament
and let Sy sail it!

Sy and David have their's finished and ready to race

See more of the mini Solings on the mini Soling page!

Don brought his Star45 and Laser to the November meeting and showed David and Sy how they sailed. Don is very knowledgeable about RC sailboats and eager to help others enjoy the sport. See his website at Texas RC Sailing. Don won first place in the Star 45 and Victoria classes in Austin saturday! (11/23/02)

Victoria

The Grey Goast, Victoria class winner

Don also has Victoria 65

RC Laser
We hope to have a RC Laser fleet at the club also. The Laser is a "ready to sail" boat, perfect for those who do not have the time to build their own model. Do the "Death roll" without getting wet! For more info on this great boat see
